Poker players in Bucharest have spent the past week living it up as the latest 888poker LIVE event rolled through town. Things wrapped up on Monday with local player Andrei Racolta taking down the Main Event for €71,042 ($87,628 US) and his first career live win.

Racolta started heads-up play with a 6-1 lead over Krzysztof Chmielowski and needed just 35 minutes to wrap things up. The final hand saw Chmielowski move all in with [jd][2d] and Racolta called with [as][8c] and watched the [kd][qh][6h][kh][qc] runout give him the win.

Chmielowski, who hails from Poland, qualified on 888poker in a $109 satellite and and turned that into a runner-up score of €44,000 ($54,275 US).

Seven of the final nine players were from Romania including third place finisher Marian Strachinescu. The only other non-Romanian player at the final table was fourth place finisher Sinisa Radovanovic.

Catalin Pop, who has won two previous 888poker LIVE events, came close to another one, finishing fifth.

The event drew 469 entries, each paying the €888 buy-in to generate a prize pool of €360,192.

The next 888poker LIVE stop goes May 23 – June 4 in Barcelona, Spain and online qualifiers are running now starting at $0.01.
