As has been the case for the better of 2017, the top three in the PocketFives Rankings continues to be a combination of ‘lena900’, Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez and ‘C Darwin2‘. This week, Sweden’s ‘lena900’ held on to the #1 spot for the fifth consecutive week.

Despite cashing a total of 41 times, only one of those was big enough to add to ‘lena900’s PLB score. Finishing fifth in the PokerStars PLO Sunday Grand added $9,627 to his bankroll and 148.92 points to his score. ‘Lena900’ now leads the rest of the field by 697.06 points.

Gonzalez had two big scores this week, and in each case narrowly missed out on an opportunity to put up even bigger results and move closer to regaining the #1 ranking. Last Sunday he finished third in the partypoker $2,600 Super High Roller for $25,932 and 228.43 points. Two days later he finished runner-up in a partypoker
$530 High Roller for $8,501 and 147.53. Had he won those two events he would have scored an additional 289.24 points.

The player who edged Gonzalez out in the partypoker High Roller was none other than #3-ranked ‘C Darwin2’. Beating out Gonzalez earned him $11,557 and 223.61 points. That win was one of three huge scores for the Swede this week. On Sunday he finished third in the partypoker Heavyweight Title Fight Warm Up for $12,061 and 194.51 points and won the partypoker $530 High Roller for $8,954 and 200 points. He’s now just 231,36 points behind Gonzalez.

Another Swede, ‘inhoo‘, stayed the course this week, holding on to the #4 spot, but there’s a new name (of sorts) at #5.

German ‘girafganger7‘ re-entered the rankings this week, showing up at #5 after a week that included five cashes big enough to earn points. Last Saturday the German pro won the partypoker High Roller Turbo for $7,506/141.42 and the PokerStars Big $215 for $8,991/215.87. He followed that up on Sunday with a 12th place finish in the PokerStars Super-Sized Sunday for $2,446/108.24. He also finished runner-up in the PokerStars Big $109 on Monday for $7,907/165.33 and won the PokerStars $320 NLHE on Tuesday for $5,830/146.97. Those five scores allowed him to edge out former #5-ranked Nicolas ‘PokerKaiser’ Fierro by just 1.11 point.

The rest of the top 10 remained largely unchanged from last week. Fierro moved to #6, ‘Ariados‘ now sits at #7,
Conor ‘1_conor_b_1’ Beresford to #8, ‘pappadogg‘ to #9 and Patrick ‘pleno1’ Leonard stayed at #10. Dropping out of the top 10 this week was Sweden’s Andreas ‘r5ndomr4gs’ Berggren who went from #8 to #11.
