New Jersey's Ryan 'shipthesherb' Hohner is the new #1-ranked player in the USA.

New Jersey’s Ryan ‘shipthesherb’ Hohner has taken over the top spot in the PocketFives United States Online Poker Rankings.

After putting in light volume through the month of March, Hohner hit the online felts hard in the month of April, racking up 28 cashes – eight of which were for four-figures or better. His spotlight cash came at the end of the month when he took the bronze in the WSOP.com $50,000 Monthly Sunday Six Max for $8,461 and 136.22 PLB points. Coleman also put in a large amount of volume on the regulated New Jersey online poker sites, turning in nine top-three finishes out of his 43 total cashes in April. He posted nineteen four-figure cashes in the month with a highlight score of $7,846 for his runner-up finish in the WSOP.com $30,000 Tuesday Showdown. Coleman also took home outright wins in four tournaments resulting in scores of $3,390, $6,435, $6,188 and $3,023. He currently sits less than $6K away from eclipsing $1.8M in total career online earnings.

Yong ‘ykwon17’ Kwon jumped up to the #3 rank in the U.S.A. in April after putting together a nice month that included 59 cashes, 16 of which were good for podium finishes. He started the month off with four outright victories in the first week including a win in the WSOP.com $20,000 Weekly Tuesday for $9,828. However, that wasn’t Kwon’s largest cash of the month as he also went on to take down the April 12 edition of the WSOP.com Spring OC #36 for another $12,918 and 214.79 PLB points. He chased in nine PLB qualifying tournaments to amass a total of 4,086.77. Kwon needed every bit of that to surpass perennial United States online poker rankings leader Michael ‘Gags30’ Gagliano who sits ranked at #4 this month with 4,084.05 PLB points.

Gagliano didn’t put in a full online grind in April, but what he did do reaped major rewards. ‘Gags’ only posted 13 total cashes in the month, six of which were top-three finishes. Of those finishes, four of those were outright wins.  His top score of the month was a victory in the April 24 edition of the WSOP.com $30,000 Tuesday Showdown for $13,450 and 211.74 PLB points. In total, Gagliano banked over $55,000 in the month.

Finishing off the top five is last month’s #1-ranked Jon ‘itsmejon’ Borenstein. Borenstein started off the month strong with a runner-up finish in the WSOP.com $50,000 Monthly Sunday for $14,858 and 195.05 PLB points. He also found success over on partypoker, taking down the April 26 edition of the Mega $320 Thursday for $2,824. In total, Borenstein had a successful month with 41 cashes, 12 of which were for four-figures or better.
